Here are the expectations for the role:

1. Write at least FOUR video scripts in English every month (~20 hours per script).

2. This is a FULL-TIME position at our Bangalore office. Min commitment of 9 months.

Working style requirements:

1. Strong work ethic and maintains high quality in outputs (e.g., limited grammatical errors and strong citation of sources)

2. Works well during time pressure and approaching deadlines

3. Takes feedback well

4. Adheres to deadlines! This is an important requirement

Technical requirements:

1. Significant experience reading research papers on economics, social science, or political science

2. Background in statistics/economics that enables you to understand quantitative studies easily

3. Demonstrable interest in current affairs (mostly, Indian economy, society, and politics)

4. Comfortable in Hindi and English (Writing will ONLY be in English)

5. IMPORTANT: Storytelling. Research is one part of this job. It can involve finding relevant evidence, understanding it, and summarising it. Research can be time-intensive but it is often not the most challenging part. The challenging part is using that research to craft an engaging narrative. I am looking for people who can research AND turn that into a story

Prior experience writing for journals/magazines/blogs/newspapers is highly desirable but not a requirement. Watch some of the latest videos to understand the depth of research required and the potential topics we work on.
